Regent of Dagbon calls for peace and stability in Dagbon

Ashaiman, March 28, GNA – The Regent of Dagbon, Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani, has urged the people of Dagbon to make a firm commitment to peace and stability in the area. Making the call in an address read for him at the ninth anniversary of the murder of Ya Na Yakubu Andani 11 by members of Gubdana Association at Ashaiman over the weekend he said by so doing, the people of Dagbon would be taking a very important step towards defeating those evil forces that had vowed to perpetuate rancour and division in the area.

Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani announced the launch of the Dagbon Development Plan slated for the end of next month to mobilize the best of minds, energies and resources to address poverty and under-development in the area.

While urging citizens of Dagbon resident outside to be law-abiding, the Regent reiterated the call on the citizenry both at home and abroad to commit themselves to the tenets of peace to speed up the development of Dagbon.

“We have no other alternative but to live in peace with each other. Indeed, we owe it to this generation and to future generations. We should be conscious of how history will remember us,” he said Kampakuya Naa Abdulai Yakubu Andani reiterated the call on government to bring to book the perpetrators of the heinous crime of March 27, 2002 that led to the murder of Ya Na Yakubu Andani.
