Refurbished Elmina Hotel To Open In November

Elmina (C/R) The 20 billion cedis four-star hotel currently under construction in Elmina is expected to be commissioned in November this year. Mr. Victor Maccarthy, the project coordinator, disclosed this when the central regional minister, Mr. Kojo Yankah, inspected progress of work as part of a day’s visit to the Edina traditional area on Tuesday. The hotel started in August 1994, has special facilities including two presidential suites, centrally controlled music system, a casino, open terraces, a conference room which has a capacity of seating 200 people, sports facilities, a disco and a swimming pool. The Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) has 55 per cent shares while the SIC has 30 per cent with the remaining 15 per cent for the Bank for Housing and Construction. Mr. Yankah urged the management of the hotel to periodically organise refresher courses for their personnel.
