Re-shape Seneso-Anyinofi road

Atebubu (B/A), Sept. 29, GNA- An appeal has gone to the Ministry of Roads and Transport to re-shape the nine-kilometre road linking Seneso in the Atebubu District to Anyinofi in the Sekyere East District of the Afram Plains.

Nana Amponsatem Ababio, chief of Anyinofi who made the appeal said the road was in a deplorable state that it had cut off Anyinofi from the rest of the country.

Making the appeal through the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Atebubu on Saturday, the chief said, the situation had also grounded human and economic activities in the area.

He said it had also caused large quantities of food crops to get rotten because they could not be transported to the market centres. Nana Ababio talked about the loss of three pregnant women through delivery complications in the town because they could not be sent to the Atebubu hospital for medical attention.

He said personnel from the District Health Insurance Scheme who were on an official visit to Anyinofi to sensitize the people on the scheme, got stranded at the place for five days.

He said the personnel might not return to the area to render services and that could affect the health status of the people.
