Re: Kwabena Agyepong vows to pursue anti Akufo-Addo agenda if…

Our attention has been drawn to a scurrilous untruth story contained in the Monday January 14, 2014 edition of The Informer newspaper under the headline, “Kwabena Agyepong vows to pursue anti Akufo-Addo agenda if…..” and would like to set the record straight in this unfortunate attempt to mischievously smear the Unifying candidature of Mr. Kwabena Agyepong.

The campaign team for Kwabena Agyepong wish to state that this story is nonexistent and does not merit publication. It is a made-up story calculated to injure the hard earn reputation of a modest statesman who have served his party and kept faith with the political development of this country.

For the records, Kwabena Agyepong was NOT sacked as Presidential Spokesperson while working for President John Agyekum Kufuor. In fact Mr. Kwabena Agyepong resigned from his position as Presidential Spokesperson, a post he had held for six years, in May 2006 having discharged his job satisfactorily to pursue his service for the party.

We consider this publication as an act of indiscretion exercised by the editorial board of The Informer. As a distinguished communicator, unifier and a principled true blue party person, it is absolutely clear that his personality trait abhors, hates tribalism and factionalism.

Dedicated to the cause of wining power from the NDC, Kwabena Agyepong would not be distracted by publications which are meant to blur his focus at campaigning to win the General Secretaryship of the NPP come March 1st.

The campaign team uses this opportunity to wish all persons contesting Kwabena Agyepong well in their endeavour. We advise fellow contestants to refrain from acts that may be divisive or otherwise enhance the parochial interest of persons professing to be pressmen but are doing the bid for the NDC. We are by this release clearly distancing ourselves from this dangerous and inimical publication.

Thank you
