RE: K’bu Diagnostic Machines Obsolete

Release: Immediate

The authorities of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital wish to assure the general public that steps are being taken to re-equip the Radiology Department. Tenders had already been invited from eligible and qualified companies for the supply of general radiographic equipment to the Hospital.

This move is to replace old and faulty equipment whose rate of breakdown is a major concern to Management, care-providers and patients.

Temporary measures have been placed to fix the relatively old machines whenever they break down in order to serve patients while steps are taken to replace them with new ones.

Management wishes to state that besides the Hospital’s own effort, the Ministry of Health has undertaken a comprehensive assessment of the Hospital’s equipment needs and, will in due course, re-tool the hospital just like has been done with our lifts.

We wish to assure the public that the hospital will never do anything to compromise the health of its cherished patients and clients. The hospital would not allow anything which can pose a threat to the health and safety of patients to be used. Thank you.
