RCID investigates clearance of vehicle from Tema Port

Tema, Feb. 7, GNA- The Tema Regional Criminal Investigations Department (RCID) have initiated investigations into the clearance of a Renault truck from the Tema port without payment of customs duties.

Police told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) on Thursday that the vehicle, which was not been processed by Customs was found with a registration number AS 5333 S on its way to Kumasi when it was arrested at the Tema section of the toll booth on the Tema-Accra motorway. The police who confirmed the story said following a tip-off, policemen chased the vehicle and found it parked at the tollbooth.

Police said the driver whose name is being withheld is helping in investigations.
