Rawlingses not behind NDP – Josiah Aryeh

The National Democratic Party, a breakaway party from the NDC appears to be drifting away from its earlier subtle but open association with the wife of the NDC founder Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.

There are speculations that the Rawlingses are the core brains behind the formation of the newly registered political party.

An executive of the party in July this year also stated that the Rawlingses are solidly behind the formation of the NDP.

But speaking to XYZ News shortly after the party was giving a provisional certificate by the EC on Wednesday, its interim General Secretary, Dr. Josiah Aryeh said the party has never claimed to have the backing of the former first couple.

“You have been here, you have seen things and heard things, have you seen the Rawlingses around or anybody purporting to represent the Rawlingses around.

“We are the leaders of the NDP and anybody willing to join us can come on board on now” Dr. Aryeh said.
