The Former President of Ghana, Jerry John Rawlings has expressed doubt about the Mills administration’s commitment to fight corruption.
Addressing a rally at Aflao on Sunday to commemorate the June 4 uprising, Mr Rawlings described the embattled Alfred Woyome as a “corrupt boy” who is being shelved by the incompetent and corrupt NDC government.
Former President Rawlings said he is appalled by government’s failure to win “straightforward” court cases adding that the trend discourages him from seeking justice over some mysterious killings in the country.
“A straightforward interrogation will lead us to who some of these murderers are and who the masterminds are. Mr Rawlings said.
He added that “why should the government be afraid and running over the exposure of that corrupt boy, Woyome. There are more who are just corrupt or more corrupt”
“How can we stop it…if we could not ask questions on straightforward cases how do I expect this government to ask questions on these mysterious killings where it is hard to even find evidence”.
Meanwhile, the man at the centre of the controversial ¢51million judgment debt payment Alfred Agbesi Woyome is expected in court today.
