Kumasi, Oct 18, GNA – Former President and founder of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Flt-Lt Jerry John Rawlings, will as from October 20 commence a campaign tour of the Ashanti Region. An official of the party told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi at the weekend that the tour is to augment the one currently being embarked on by Professor John Evans Atta Mills, the flagbearer. The GNA gathered that the week’s visit by the former president will see him visit 12 constituencies including Kwabre East and West, Bantama, Asawasi, Ejura-Sekyedumase, among others. The official said the programme had been designed to solicit for more votes in Ashanti to increase the party’s chances in the December elections.
