Rawlings to be honoured in Nigeria

Accra, June 23, GNA- Former President Jerry John Rawlings is to be honoured by NiteShift Coliseum, a prominent events and entertainment organization in Nigeria. A statement from the Office of the Former President said he will be a special Guest of Honour at the 2007 Grand House Reception in Lagos on Sunday June 24.

In the past few years, the Coliseum has hosted a number of eminent Nigerians, including Former Vice President of Nigeria, Atiku Abubakar and the late Chief MKO Abiola, winner of the annulled 1993 elections in Nigeria as well as diplomats and captains of business and industry in the country. Former President Rawlings, who celebrated his 60th birthday on Friday June 22nd, will be accompanied by his wife Nana Konadu and children.

Other members of the delegation will include Mr Ato Ahwoi, Nii Afotey Agbo, MP for Kpone Katamanso and Special Aid Emmanuel Victor Smith. The Former President is expected back on Monday, June 25.
