Rawlings to address conference in Togo

Accra, June 19, GNA – Former President Jerry John Rawlings on Monday left Accra for Lome, Togo to address a conference on the Construction of a Democratic Society in that country.

A statement signed by Mr Victor Smith, Special Assistant and Director of Public Relations, Office of the Former President, said the meeting was being organised by the Group of Reflection and Action for Dialogue, Democracy and Development (GRAD).

It said Former President Rawlings would represent the Africa Forum at the Togo meeting at the invitation of Mr Joachim Chissano, Former President of Mozambique and Chairperson of the Africa Forum. The statement said Former President Rawlings was accompanied by Mr James Victor Gbeho, Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, for the two the day meeting.
