Rawlings Reshuffles Cabinet

ACCRA, Ghana (PANA) – Ghana’s President John Rawlings has reshuffled several members of his cabinet, bringing in a number of new faces into the line-up.

An official statement issued on Monday said Cecilia Johnson, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, has been nominated as the substantive minister while Kwame Danso Boafo has been nominated as Minister of Health.

Dan Abodakpi, Deputy Minister of Trade and Industry, has been nominated as the substantive minister, Jacob Arthur has been nominated as Central Regional Minister, and Charles Martey- Akrasu Kpapitey has been nominated as Deputy Minister of Health.

The nominees will be screened and approved by parliament.

The statement, signed by Jimmy Amissah, Secretary to the President, said John Abu, Minister of Trade and Industry, is now the Minister of Mines and Energy, Kwamena Ahwoi, Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, is now Minister of State responsible for planning and regional economic co- operation and integration.

Daniel Ohene Agyekum, Greater Accra regional Minister, is now Minister of State at the Presidency, responsible for chieftaincy affairs and protocol.

Other changes are Charles Agbenaza, Volta Regional Minister, David Osei- Wusu, Brong Ahafo Regional Minister, Sulemana Amidu, Upper West Regional Minister and Donald Adabre, Upper East Regional Minister.

The rest are Joshua Alabi, Greater Accra Regional Minister, Seidu Iddi, Northern Regional Minister, Nana Paddy Acheampong, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Commander P.M.G. Griffiths, Deputy Minister of Trade and Owuraku Amofa, Deputy Minister of Communications.
