Rawlings receives FAO Award

The Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) on Monday presented President Jerry John Rawlings with the ‘AGRICOLA’ medal for promoting agriculture in Ghana, making him the 10th person to pick up the prestigious award. Pope John Paul II, the late King Hassan of Morocco, President Jiang Zemin of China, President Abdou Diouf of Senegal and President Jacques Chirac of France have won the award in recognition of their tireless efforts at sustained food production and eradication of poverty.
