Rawlings ordered me to sign a deal ? Ex-AMA boss

The former Chief Executive of the AMA, Nat Nunoo-Amarterifio, has told an Accra Fast Track High Court, (FTHC), that it was former President Rawlings who ordered him to sign a contract with the City and Country Waste Limited (CCWL), to manage solid and liquid waste in Accra.

He told the court, presided over by Victor Ofei that as he was at the negotiating point with Groupe, Chagnon, a Canadian Waste Managing Company, which metamorphosed into the CCWL, he had a call from the Secretary to President Rawlings, Ambassador Amissah, who summoned him to the Castle, and told him that the president was angry with him, for wasting time in signing the contract with Groupe Chagnon.

Consequently, an amount of $8.9m was allegedly paid to CCWL for their operations in the City.
