Rawlings Is Indispensable In Ghanaian Politics -ACDR

The Association of Committees for the Defence of the Revolution (ACDR) has stated that the ideals that former President Rawlings stood for have become an indispensable factor in the country’s politics.

According to the association, Rawlings’ intervention in Ghanaian politics has resulted in the recognition and acceptance of Ghana by the International Community. The ACDR’s hold that but for the bold and human centred measures adopted by the former President, the country would have possibly experienced social upheavals.

The position of the ACDR’s was contained in a statement issued by former Presidential Staffer in charge of Progressive Voluntary Organisations, Nii Adjei Boye Sekan in reaction to recent public condemnations of remarks made by ex-President Rawlings on the socio-economic and political direction of the country. The statement described the condemnation as an attempt to gag him from expressing opinions on issues affecting the well being of the country and the broad masses of the people.

Attempts by opponents of ex-President Rawlings to potray him as a disturber of peace is an act of ingratitude and must be condemned. “We should acknowledge the fact that he is a political force whose knowledge and experience must be exploited for the national cause.”
