Rawlings’ ‘dog killer’ set free

The man who was arrested in the South Tongu District of the Volta region for allegedly killing a dog belonging to former President Rawlings has been released.

Kwesi Banahene in an interview with XYZ News said he had no hand in the killing of the dog and was wrongfully arrested.

Mr. Banahene stated that dog had was terrorizing residents who walked pass the house to fetch water at a nearby stream.

According to him, his own children were recently bitten by the dog. He, however, denied any involvement in the killing of the dog adding that the whole allegation was false.

Mr. Banahene noted that the arrest was a calculated attempt to intimidate him. He, however, expressed his appreciation to the Ghana Police for not allowing themselves to be used by people he claimed wanted to gag him.
