Rawlings ‘begs’ Mahama to save NDC from “old evil dwarfs”

Former President Rawlings says President Mahama is waking up to the actions of people he refers to as old evil dwarfs around the presidency.

Mr Rawlings said this during the launch of the NDC’s manifesto in the Volta Region.

The former president made these comments in the shortest address ever delivered by the charismatic leader whose presence at the manifesto launch was shrouded in uncertainty until he showed up at the Jubilee park in Ho on Thursday afternoon.

Mr. Rawlings said “there is nothing more oppressive than when a political leader refuses to see the actions of negative elements around him… In the same vein, there is nothing more rewarding than when a political leader begins to see the negative actions of these people,” the former president stressed that “it means there is hope.”

Mr. Rawlings has consistently slammed late President Mills for looking on while individuals he described as greedy bastards controlled the affairs of the state.

In a similar fashion, the former president stated at the party’s Kumasi Congress to endorse President Mahama that there are children with sharp teeth in the party. He urged the president to do away with such individuals if he wants to succeed.

Former president Rawlings said he believes that President Mahama is beginning to see for himself the actions of “these same old evil dwarfs.”

He said he is aware of the things that the president is doing behind closed doors and therefore wishes him well in his endeavour.

Mr Rawlings added that “Your President, the president needs help and I pray to God to give him strength and courage to put his foot down and do what he needs to do.”
