Ras Boateng goes to fast track NHIS

Accra, Feb 10, GNA – Government on Friday directed that Mr Ras Boateng, Deputy Director of Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT) be seconded to the National Health Insurance Council as the Executive Secretary to help to fast track the establishment of the Scheme for an initial period of two years.

During the period, Mr Boateng would remain an employee of SSNIT and would continue to draw his salary and also enjoy all benefits to which he is entitled to as Deputy Director General of SSNIT.

A statement signed by Mr Kwadwo Mpiani, Chief of Staff and Minister of Presidential Affairs, said the National Health Insurance Council and the Public Services Commission were consulted before the appointment was made.
