Goaso (B/A) March 17, GNA – More than 2,000 people, including school children, have been displaced by a rainstorm that hit some communities in Asunafo North Municipality. The victims are putting up with friends and relatives. The rainstorm ripped off the roofing of several buildings including school blocks and other institutions at Goaso and Mim. No casualty was recorded. Alhaji Haruna Salam, Municipal Coordinating Director and Mr. Dominic Mensah, NADMO Coordinator, have visited the affected places to assess the extent of damage.

They appealed to the PTAs of the affected schools to assist in rehabilitating the schools to ensure smooth teaching and learning. The two officials advised the school authorities and individuals to plant trees on the compounds to serve as windbreaks. 17 March 09
