Rainstorm displaces 52 residents at Banso and Bankame

Banso (Ash), July 20, GNA – A rainstorm that hit Banso and Bankame near Obogu in the Asante-Akim South district had rendered 52 people homeless.

The storm injured one person and ripped the roofs of 39 buildings. Some of the building collapsed.

The injured, Kingsley Opoku, is responding to treatment at the Juaso District Hospital whilst the displaced people are putting up with friends and relatives.

Mr Adu Gyimah, the Assemblyman, for Bankame told the Ghana News Agency that the situation had brought severe hardships on the affected people.

He appealed to the National Disaster management Organisation (NADMO) and the district assembly to come to their aid.
