Rainstorm destroys property

Severe rainstorm which hit Kukuom and Yankye both near Goaso in the Asunafo District has some buildings and left some people homeless.

The entire roof of teachers’ quarters constructed by the people of Yankye for the Local Primary School was ripped off and the residence of a teacher, Madam Comfort Bruwaah at Kukuom was destroyed.

The Asunafo District National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) has estimated damage caused to both buildings at 15 million cedis.

The District NADMO Coordinator Alhaji Ishak A. Bonsu told GNA that the affected teachers were living with friends at nearby towns thereby affecting their work.

The victims appealed to individuals, NADMO and the district assembly to assist in the rehabilitation of the buildings.
