Quiz competition on HIV/AIDS for Techiman schools

Techiman (B/A) Nov. 16 GNA – The Techiman District Directorate of the Ghana Education Service (GES) in collaboration with the Techiman District Assembly is to organize a quiz competition on HIV/AIDS in five selected Senior Secondary Schools (SSS) in the area.

Briefing the GNA on the programme, Mr Wilfred N. Sobome, district school health education programme co-ordinator, named the participating schools as Techiman Secondary, Asugyaman Secondary/Technical at Aworowa, Buoyem Secondary, Tuobodom Secondary and Offuman Secondary.

He said each school would present two students for the competition that would form part of activities marking this year’s HIV/AIDS awareness month in the district.

He called on Techiman West and Central Circuits, champions in the Junior Secondary School (JSS) level Quiz competition to present two contestants for the Champion of Champions diadem on: “Women in Sub-Saharan Africa are more vulnerable to HIV/AIDS infection than men”.
