The Secretary of the Queen mothers Association of Ghana has said that the association has embarked on a programme to educate children on adolescent reproductive health after coming to the realisation that teenage pregnancy and school dropout is very high in most parts of Ghana especially Northern Ghana.
Speaking to Bole-based Nkilgi FM located a, Kansawurche Hajia Ajara who was a former District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bole said she has organised the education in some basic schools at the Sawla-Tuna- Kalba to help reduce teenage pregnancy.
Kansawurche who is also the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Friends Maternity Clinic at Sawla in the Northern Region called on parents to get closer to their adolescent girls so as to know their problems and advise them accordingly disclosing that many teenagers who gave birth at her clinic are mostly from primary and Junior high schools.
She said the youngest girl who gave birth at her clinic is 13 years old.
