Police Chief Inspector Frimpong Manso told the Court that Nana Amankwaa, a resident of Bremang in Kumasi, had been looking for a parcel of farm land to buy for his son, a medical officer at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH).

In August 2008 Nana Amankwaa was introduced to Yeboah who claimed he had a piece of cocoa farm at Botomuruso, a farming community in the Atwima District, that he wanted to sell.

Nana Amankwaa expressed interest and after negotiations the parties settled on GH¢3,200 and the amount was paid.
