Purchasing clerk killed in road accident

Adiembra (Ash), June 28, GNA – A 40-year-old cocoa purchasing clerk, at Achiase, near Adiembra, in the Atwima-Mponua District, was on Monday killed on the Kumasi-Bibiani highway in a suspected hit-and-run.

Yaw Manu, riding an unregistered motor bike, was found lifeless in a pool of blood on a section of the road between Adiembra and Amangoase. Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Fredrick Mensah of the Motor

Traffic and Transport Unit (MTTU) told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that, the accident is believed to have happened at about 2100 hours.

He said the police were investigating and vowed to do everything to get to the bottom of it and bring the offending driver to justice.

He reminded motorists that refusing to report an accident was a crime, and appealed to the public, particularly travellers, to assist the police with information to track down drivers, who fail to report accident cases.

Meanwhile, the badly mutilated body of the deceased had been deposited at the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH) mortuary.
