Pupils To Take Shelter In Chief’s Palace

Bawia (W/R), June 27 – The chief of Bawia in the Jomoro District, Nana Ngotobia Cato the second, has offered a section of his palace to temporarily accommodate pupils of the District council primary school. The structure which hitherto housed children in primary one and six has been declared a death trap. Mr. Isaac Erzuah, Jomoro district director of education, who disclosed this after inspecting the school said the authorities of the school decided to close it down to avoid a possible collapse At a meeting later, Mr. Erzuah asked the people of Nvellenu and Bawia to put their chieftaincy dispute aside and build a new school for the children. He appealed to the district assembly to assist the people with building materials to enable them complete the school as soon as possible.
