Pupils in Ho Municipality expecting free exercise books

Ho, March 11, GNA – Basic school pupils in the Ho Municipality on Wednesday appealed to government to supply the remaining consignment of free exercise books.

The pupils said this when the GNA visited some schools in the Municipality to find out if pupils had received the exercise books. A pupil in Mawuli Junior High School Form Three in Ho said a further delay in supplying the books would not be in their interest and appealed to government to act in time.

Mr Eusebius Dzogbewu, Storekeeper of Ho Municipal Education Office, said he had been receiving calls from teachers all over the district on when their pupils were going to be given the exercise books and appealed to government to provide the remaining books for onward distribution to the schools.

Pupils in communities outside the Ho Municipality who received the books lauded government for the initiative and expressed the hope that it would be permanent. Master Albert Tome, School Prefect of Sokode-Lokoe L.A. JHS where pupils had received the exercise books said the package brought great relief to their parents and served as motivation for the pupils to take their lessons seriously. GNA
