Pupils at Amansie West to enjoy free education

Manso-Aponapon (Ash), Aug 17, GNA- Pupils in the Amansie West District of the Ashanti Region, will not pay school fees with effect from the next academic year.

Mr E.K. Amoah, the District Director of Education, who announced this, said the concession stemmed from the fact that the District had been classified as one of the deprived districts in the country. He was speaking at the second speech and prize-giving day of the Aponapon Muslim Mission Primary School.

Mr Amoah commended the school for placing first on two occasions in the Performance Monitoring Test, in the District.

Mr Joseph Yeboah, the Headteacher, asked the Ghana Education Service and the District Assembly, to provide the school with additional classrooms to cater for the junior secondary school students. Mr Hassan Aziz, the Deputy Regional Manager of Muslim Mission Schools, expressed the need for Muslims to embrace secular education alongside Arabic education.

He also appealed to parents to send their daughters to school.
