Public voting for Second ICT 2008 Awards opens

Accra, May 6, GNA- The Ministry of Communications announced on Tuesday that, voting for the Second National ICT Awards for 2008 has opened.

A statement issued in Accra said the awards night to be held on May 17, is being organised by the Ministry and Ghana’s ICT industry stakeholders.

It said members of the general public can vote either by going to www.ghanaictawards.com or send the full name of their choice to SMS 1419 to all mobile networks by May 13.

Categories opened for public voting are: ICT personality of the year (Dr Nii Narku Quaynor, Mrs Florence Seriki, Akwasi Pianim Osei, Saqib Nazir, Samuel Quarshie and Dr Harriet Somuah);

The category of Telecom company of the year is TIGO, MTN, Kasapa and Onetouch.

Top Caf=E9 of the year, Smart internet and multimedia, Cybercity internet, and the Top ICT Training Institution ;KNUST Computer Science Department, IPMC, NIIT, KINET, Dzodze Children’s Resource Centre.

The statement said winners would be entered into the African Achievers Award to be held in South Africa.
