Public Relations Executives End Course

Accra, Aug. 15, – A one-week course for Public Relations Executives from Ghana and Nigeria ended in Accra today with a call on managements and governments to take public relations seriously. Mr Mike Okereke, President of Business Education Examination Council (BEEC), said managements and governments in Africa should realise that any corporate organisation that does not take public relations seriously is bound to fail. The course organized by (BEEC) in conjunction with BEEC International Ghana Limited was part of a process to form a network of public relations executives world wide to exchange knowledge and experiences. Among some of the topics the 50 participants went through were Public Relations Practice and Strategic Management, Total Quality Management and Public Relations and Public Relations, Research and Evaluation. Mr Okereke said public relations, a management function, should be a core of any management and the holder should be involved in planning and formulation of policies.
