Public cemetery sold for residential purposes

Takoradi, June 25, GNA – A Takoradi district magistrate on Wednesday, granted a sixty-eight year old unemployed 600 Ghana cedis bail with one surety for selling a public cemetery for estate development.

The accused pleaded not guilty and told the court that the land belonged to him and his family.

Prosecuting, Police Inspector Michael Ahiadzro told the court that the complainant Nana Kumitsia VI, the chief of Adientem near Takoradi and the accused, Kofi Awortwi, live in the same community.
