Public cautioned over 4 brands of filtered water

Ho, Dec. 17, GNA – The Food And Drugs Board (FDB) on Friday advised the general public to desist from patronising four brands of filtered water, which have been found to be unwholesome.

The products are “Odo Nsuo,” produced by Kulfams Enterprise at Akuse, “Salvation Filtered Water,” made at Odumase, “Norvisi Filtered Water,” produced by Dansy Enterprise at Juapong and “Nananom Drinking Water,” produced by Nananom Company Ltd, Koforidua.

A statement issued in Ho and signed by Mrs Nora Narkie Terlabie, Zonal Officer, (Eastern and Volta) of the FDB said the Board was taking steps to have all the affected products withdrawn from the market. The release warned wholesalers as well as retailers that, stocking and distribution of the products constituted an offence.

Mrs Terlabie told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) that the action was taken after the producers failed to heed several interventions by he FDB to get them to upgrade their production methods to meet required standards.
