Public asked to give prominence to National issues

Begoro, Nov. 15, GNA – The Fanteakwa District Director of the National Commission on Civic Education (NCCE), Mr Francis Cobbah, has appealed to Ghanaians to owe greater allegiance to national development rather than political development. Speaking to Ghana News Agency at Begoro on Friday, Mr Cobbah said the upsurge in political violence was due to greater alliance Ghanaians attached to politicking than national issues. He said political tolerance was the bedrock of every peaceful election and without it the nation would be plunged into chaos. Mr Cobbah said the upsurge of political intolerance has defeated the public education theme of “violent free election” and that Ghanaians required more political education campaign to make them politically tolerant. He deplored political violence characterizing the on-going voter transfer and appealed to politicians who hide under the clock of peace and entice their supporters to foment violence to stop forthwith.
