Accra, Oct. 7, GNA – Mr Ferguson Sena Quarcoo, a designer and dealer in medical equipment, has advised Ghanaians to avoid venereal and other infections passed on through the use of unhygienic toilet seats. He urged the public to adopt the use of biodegradable disinfectants to ensure clean and bacteria free environment. Mr Quarcoo sounded the caution in an interview with the Ghana News Agency on a new sanitizer, Nogerm Multipurpose Disinfectant, soon to be launched on the Ghanaian market.
Mr Quarcoo, who is also the Chief Executive Officer of Sanferg Limited, suppliers of medical equipment, stressed that good health started with good hygiene in homes, schools, hospitals, hotels and restaurants and all public places.
He said the new product is a biodegradable, non-toxic disinfectant that kills bacteria on contact within 30 seconds, deodorizes cat and dog urination smells, removes scum, and kills fungi on contact. Mr Quarcoo said a lot of bacterial and diarrheal diseases could be avoided if households would have well-maintained places of convenience and practice the simple hygiene of washing hands thoroughly with soap after contacts with any body fluid.
He also advised keepers of pets to spray pet litters with disinfectants to eliminate all bacteria for pleasant odour. Mr Quarcoo also advised food handlers to dunk their hands into good sanitizers for immediate disinfection to prevent food contamination and passing on of bacteria to other persons.
