PTA of Manhean Sec-Tech constructs fence wall

Tema Newtown, July 14, GNA – Nii Adjei Kraku II, Tema Mantse has advised students in second-cycle institutions, especially those in the less endowed ones to take their studies seriously and see the sky as their only limit.

He said the only way to excel and attain greater academic heights and laurels like their colleagues in endowed schools was to study hard. Nii Kraku said this when he cut the sod for work to begin on a GH¢20,000 fence wall for Manhean Senior High Technical School at Tema Newtown.

The project, an initiative of the PTA of the school, is to provide security and to also check lateness and indiscipline among the students. Nii Kraku donated 50 bags of cement as his widow’s mite towards the project, while the Traditional Council pledged to give 1,000 blocks. Mr Joseph Amuah, Headmaster of the school, commended the Tema Metropolitan Assembly (TMA) and the Tema Traditional Council for assisting the school on numerous occasions.

Mr Amuah said the fence wall would enhance teaching and learning in the school and appealed to public spirited individuals and organizations in the metropolis to provide further assistance to ensure the completion of the project.

He said the school, the only secondary/technical institution offering auto-mechanics in the Greater Accra Region, was in dire need of boarding facilities to help increase enrolment. The Headmaster said the main classroom block which had developed serious cracks needed immediate attention and appealed to the PTA, TMA and the Tema Traditional Council to assist.
