PTA condemns recent demonstrations by students

Kumasi, Oct 16, GNA- The T.I. Ahmadiyya Secondary School (AMASS) Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) in Kumasi has condemned recent demonstrations by students of some secondary schools in the Ashanti region.

Alhaji Othman Yahya, Chairman of the PTA, who condemned the demonstrations, said those acts of indiscipline and hooliganism do not only cast a slur on the image of schools but also erode the respect members of the public have for students.

Alhaji Yahya was speaking at a meeting organised by the PTA in Kumasi to create a platform for executives to interact with first year students of the school and also brief them on rules and regulations governing the school.

The PTA chairman was of the view that since students make undertakings to abide by rules of the school and be of good conduct, it behoves on them to abide by the undertaking rather than resort to demonstrations and strikes.
