PTA builds two-storey block of 15 classrooms

Ejisu (Ash), July 2, GNA – The Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) of the Ejisu Secondary/Technical School has built a two-storey block of 15 classrooms for the school at GH¢400,000.00. It was funded through the payment of a special annual levy of GH¢60.00 per student.

Professor Agyewodin Adu-Gyamfi Ampem, Omanhene of Acherensua and Chairman of the Ghana Education Service (GES) Council, and other members of the council, who were in Kumasi for their annual two-day conference, inspected the project.

They were conducted round by the headmaster, Mr Edward Penni, and the Secretary of the PTA, Mr Emmanuel Asiedu. They said the block was a welcomed relief to the school. The GES council members also inspected an 800-metre wall built to protect the Ejisuman Senior High School (SHS) and its land, a girls’ dormitory to accommodate 120 students and borehole. The Reverend Collins Oppong-Anane, the headmaster, said these were implemented through the school’s own internally generated funds (IGF).

Juaben SHS, T.I. Ahmadiyya Girls’ SHS at Asokore and the Effiduase SHS are the other schools visited. Prof Agyewodin Ampem expressed satisfaction with the management of the schools and the tremendous contribution the PTAs were making towards creating the right conditions for effective academic work.
