Tarkwa (W/R) April 2 GNA Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited (PSGL) has donated a generator valued at 162 million cedis to Prestea Hospital at a ceremony at Prestea on Friday.

He said it is the wish of the elders in the area that PSGL would succeed in its business endeavours in order to honour its social responsibilities.

Mr Ayensu said providing such facility would promote the living standards of the people in the area.

Mr Joe Wiafe, Managing Director of PSGL said the company focuses on education and health more than other areas because with good health and qualification, people from the area would grow to take over the company. He said the company has adopted the children’s ward of the hospital.

Mr Wiafe said workers of PSGL and their dependants attend hospital here and it is not out of place if the company helps in the provision of its needs.

He said with the provision of the generator, such cases would no more be referred.

Dr Azantilow mentioned some of the problems facing the hospital as absence of ambulance, poor infrastructure and lack of health personnel, especially a pharmacist.
