Pru constituency election result to be re-collated

Sunyani, Dec 18, GNA -The Electoral Commission has directed that the result of the presidential and parliamentary elections of the Pru Constituency in the Brong Ahafo Region should be re-collated as a result of petition by the National Democratic Congress (NDC)

A letter from the regional office of the commission and signed by Mr. Amadu Sulley, the Regional Director, indicated that the re-collation would take place at the Regional Office of the EC in Sunyani on Tuesday December 21, 2004 at 1000 hours.

The letter invited two representatives each of the regional executives of the parties that contested in the constituency and the media to the collation.

The contested political parties of Pru Constituency were the People’s National Congress (PNC), New Patriotic Party (NPP), NDC and an Independent.

The letter said, “Entry to the premises on the collation day will be strictly by invitation”.

Last week last week the NDC executives of the Pru Constituency petitioned to the Atebubu District Office of the EC against the results of the Presidential and Parliamentary elections that they claimed NDC won.
