Ghana-Nungua (W/R) July 31, GNA – The numerous projects being implemented by the Government in various parts of the country are not intended to influence the people to vote for the New patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2004 General Elections. The Government will not discriminate on the basis of religion, ethnic or political affiliation in the allocation of projects.
Madam Horner-Sam Madam Sophia Horner-Sam, Deputy Western Regional Minister, who announced these, said the Government was implementing projects in all parts of the country and was promoting democracy. The Deputy Minister was speaking at a durbar of chiefs and people of Ghana Nungua, on Friday during a working visit to the Jomoro District. She said Ghanaians themselves would decide which party to vote for, adding that vote of the electorate is their power.
Madam Horner-Sam said the Government would honour its campaign promises and said the people would be provided with potable water to reduce the incidence of water-borne diseases in the area. Mr James Nyianle, Assembly member for the area, appealed to Government to provided the people with potable water and a public toilets.
