The Jaman South Municipal Chief Executive in the Bono Region, Honorable Siata Watara, has observed the rapid growth of chieftaincy disputes in the Bono region and the country at large and has appealed to the Paramount Chief of the Dwenem Traditional Council, Nana Bofo Bene, to offer guidance to other traditional rulers in the Bono Region on maintaining peace and order for effective leadership in their respective areas.
During her address at the Munufie Yam Festival and the 35th Anniversary celebration of Nana Bofo Bene as Chief of the Dwenem Traditional Council, the Municipal Chief Executive emphasized the critical need for peace and order in Ghana to ensure that its inhabitants can live harmoniously, free from chieftaincy disputes and conflicts. She highlighted that the Chief of Dwenem has successfully ruled for over 35 years without any incidents of violence, and therefore, his expertise in fostering peace should be shared with other traditional leaders to promote peace, progress, and growth in their respective areas.
Nana Bofo Bene, the Chief of the Dwenem Traditional Area, expressed that he has accomplished much in life and, as a result, does not prioritize accumulating personal wealth. Instead, his focus is on providing educational support and assistance to students within the Dwenem enclave to ensure a brighter future for his community.
He revealed that plans are well underway to initiate the distribution of exercise books for students from class 6 to Junior High School three across all schools in the Dwenem Traditional Area in the upcoming academic year. He further stated that this initiative will eventually be expanded to cover the entire upper primary, with the aim of fostering effective educational progress in the area.
