PROTOA commends GPRTU for co-operation

Agona Swedru, (C/R), May 28, GNA – Leaders of Agona Swedru Branch of the Progressive Transport Owners Association (PROTOA) have said the co-operation, support and mutual understanding among its members and the GPRTU executives had gone a long way to promote the transport industry in the Agona District.

Mr Yaw Fayyah, PROTOA branch Chairman made the remarks at a meeting of the executives on Thursday He praised their counterparts at the Swedru-Accra Number Four Branch of the Ghana Private Road Transport Union (GPRTU) for their co-operation and understanding.

He expressed the hope that GPRTU officials in the area would maintain the cordial relations among them to enable them to provide credible service to the numerous travellers from the area each day to various part of the country.

Mr Abdul Fatawo, Chief Driver of PROTOA asked drivers to let discipline and self-control be their trade mark in their day-to-day affairs to enable them to avoid preventable road accidents which were creating a bad image for commercial drivers in the country. Mr Abdl Baai Latiff, the Station Master, urged drivers to always make sure that their vehicles are in good condition before embarking on journeys.

He advised drivers to let the fear of God permeate all their dealings, saying that this is the key to success.
