Protect the peace that Ghana is enjoying – Mahama tells GAF

President Mahama has called on the Ghana Armed Forces and the other security agencies to continue to protect and maintain the peace the country is enjoying in order to enhance national development.

The president who is also the commander-in-chief of the Ghana Armed Forces urged the security agencies not to lose sight of the important link between security and economic development.

The president made the call on Friday when he addressed a graduation parade of military officers at the military academy in Accra.

“As officers and leaders, you are expected to discharge your duties professionally and diligently without fear or favour.

“In the discharge of your duties, remember that your countrymen and women will always expect you to offer protection to ensure the territorial integrity of our nation and assist civil authority to maintain law and order.

“I therefore take this opportunity to remind the Ghana Armed Forces and other security services of your duty to protect the peace that we are enjoying”.
