Prophet calls for separate youth ministry

The Young Billionaires Concept (YBC,) one of the four-thematic projects under the Successful Leadership International (SLI,) has been launched in Accra, with a call on the central government to separate Youth Ministry from sports.

The General Overseer of Champion Ways Chapel International and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Young Billionaires Concept, Prophet Dr. Sam Owusu, called on the youth and sports ministry to include youth development in its programmes and not limit the ministry to only sports.

The colourful event—which took place at the premises of Champion Ways Chapel International in Accra— was aimed at raising young people to become financially sound, and also help the youth to assume responsibilities early in life.

This initiative, according to the man of God, will be implemented effectively through practical entrepreneurial developments, character development, skill empowerment, sense of direction and progressive lifestyle via Young Billionaires Mindset Conferences, and Young Billionaires TV show where many young entrepreneurs will be invited to share their practical life experience on how they conquered their limitations to attain success.

Dr. Owusu said his call for a separate youth ministry stems from the fact that the present ministry of youth and sports addresses only problems of sports, entertainment and menial jobs and not youth leadership development.

According to him, if a proper ministry of youth was created, it will redefine its development programmes at the national level so that programmes directed at developing the youth are implemented to make them responsible and accountable to the state.

He stated that successive governments have failed to draw a line between youth development programmes and sports, adding “it will be a positive waste in the system if the central government fails to change the direction of the youth.”

He described good governance as all things being done according to law, saying that is why it is good to tell the youth what is happening at Parliament by their representatives.

He noted with concern that there is no youth programme being implemented at the national level, though power is in the hands of the youth, adding that a reason that necessitated the formation of ‘Young Billionaires concept.’
