Mr. David D. Bordom, General Manager of Bonsu and Bordom International Ghana Limited, has called on fellow Ghanaian businessmen to champion the reconstructive efforts in promoting Ghanaian products. He said Ghanaians should also take up the responsibility to patronise their indigenous produce to enable the nation to achieve its developmental growth.

Mr. Bordom said this at the commissioning and launching of the Bonsu and Bordom Company and its new line of products at the company’s premises at the South Industrial Area on Thursday, last week. He said the main purpose of the company is to promote locally made goods on their distribution network. In an interview after the launch, Mr. Bordom noted Ghana has the potential to polish its own locally grown rice and export on the international market.

He said already the company deals in exports, imports, packaging, supply and distribution of several items and intends to capture the sub-regional market with rice refined and packaged in Ghana. According to him, one of the problems people usually encountered with the rice grown in Ghana is that it has not been milled well for consumption.

But, was quick to mention that when milled it can be of better quality as compared to the ones being imported. He spoke of the need for agro-businessmen and women to co-operate to enable boost the agricultural sector of the nation.
