Project Serve begins work on YFC SHS at Adaklu-Kodzobi

Adaklu-Kodzobi (V/R), Jan.17, GNA-Project Serve, a Christian voluntary organization in the United States of America have begun work for the construction of an ultra-modern Senior High School at Adaklu-Kodzobi near Ho to accommodate Youth For Christ’s (YFC) Youth Social Institute in Ho.

The school, established two years ago is currently in the school blocks of Evangelical Presbyterian Primary School at Ho-Kpodzi. The two-storey facility would include offices for handling youth related social issues and counselling.

The 18-member team under the leadership of Reverend Jerry Major has finished with the foundation for the building and would come back in July to complete the first phase of the project. At a short ceremony to appreciate the effort of the team, Togbe Dzegblade IV, Chief of Kodzobi expressed the willingness of the community to support the project to fruition for the rapid socio-economic development of the area. Rev. Major said the initiative was to bring higher education closer to the community to open up the place for development and to help resolve youth social problems in the area. He appreciated the communal spirit of the people and asked them to own the project for mutual benefit.

Rev. Jerry Wedanu, Volta Regional Coordinator of YFC expressed gratitude to the Team from the US and the community for the level of work done so far on the project and was hopeful that the project would be completed on schedule. Mr. Patrick Mahama, National Director of YFC, Ghana asked people in the community and the surrounding villages to send their wards to the school for a sound education. 17. 01.09
