Kumasi, April.27, GNA – The Ashanti Regional Secretariat of the Trades Union Congress (TUC) has released a programme outline for this Year’s Celebration of May Day, which falls on Sunday May 1. Mr Abubakari Adams Sandu, Regional Secretary of the TUC gave details of the programme at an emergency meeting of members of the Kumasi Council of Labour held in Kumasi on Wednesday.
According to the programme, there will be a route march by workers from the post office square through Unicorn House, Overhead bridge and Labour office, all at Asafo and then a final convergence at the Jackson’s park at Asem for a durbar.
There will also be a non-denominational service coupled with the presentation of awards to some deserving workers for their meritorious contributions to the development of the Union.
Mr. Sandu urged all unionised workers to turn up in their numbers to grace the memorable occasion. APRIL 27 05
