Professor Akosa launches Prempeh College Appianway project

Kumasi, Aug 15, GNA – Prof Agyeman Badu Akosa, the Director General of the Ghana Health Service and President of the Prempeh College Old Boys Association, at the weekend launched an endowment fund for the school.

Named “Appianway Immortalisation Project”, it will allow each old boy to purchase a square metre slab for 500,000 cedis to support the development of the school.

A buyer will have his name, the period he spent at the college as well as his house of residence inscribed on the slab.

Explaining the rational behind the launching of the project, Prof Akosa said the fund would be used to finance the construction of a new dormitory block for the school and the rest kept in the endowment fund. He enumerated projects the old boys had funded for the school and mentioned some as the expansion of the school’s dining hall, a water project and the building and furnishing of a computer laboratory. Prof Akosa said the Appianway Immortalisation Project would offer an opportunity to the old boys to own part of the school as an honour. He called on all old boys to immortalise themselves, giving them up to the end of November this year to do so.
