Prisons struglling with Ghc1.80p feeding fee – Rev. Wengam

The prevailing conditions at Ghana’s Prisons is so bad it will require some substantial amount of resource to tackle it, Rev. Dr Stephen Yenusom Wengam, Chairman of the Ghana Prisons Council Board has told Kasapa FM.

The Council is thus launching a fundraising campaign code-named ‘Project Efiase’ to help put forward a strategic plan for a possible facelift.

Wengam told Fiifi Banson on Anopa Kasapa on Kasapa 102.3 FM that the Ghana Prisons Service is currently struggling to contend with a meagre Ghc1.80p per head feeding fee for inmates, adding the continuous congestion at the prisons has further aggravated their situation.

“If you want to transform somebody, you first have to love him/her.”

Project Efiase will be launched June 30.
