Prince Owusu Vows Not To Disappoint After First Black Stars Call-Up

Medeama SC midfielder Prince Owusu has expressed gratitude after earning his maiden call-up to the Black Stars, promising to give his all for the national team.

The 21-year-old playmaker, who has been in fine form in the Ghana Premier League, was included in Otto Addo’s 24-man squad for the final 2026 World Cup qualifiers against the Central African Republic and Comoros later this month.

Speaking on the honour of representing Ghana, Owusu said: “I am an attacking midfielder, and thank God I have been invited to the national team. I thank Ghanaians for this call-up, and I promise to deliver. I will not disappoint Ghanaians.”

His inclusion is seen as a reward for consistent performances at Medeama, where he has developed into one of the league’s standout midfielders.

Owusu will be hoping to make his debut as Ghana look to cement their place at next year’s World Cup in the USA, Mexico, and Canada.
